What is a Cacao Ceremony?

A cacao ceremony involves consuming a warming cacao beverage as part of a mindful, spiritual practice. It is rooted in helping to re-balance the energies within us and restore good health. Through opening the heart, cacao helps you release negative energy, listen to your inner self, work through blockages, and restore alignment with who you truly are.
It also provides a meditative time to give yourself mental and physical space and peace. During the ceremony, you’ll allow yourself to switch off the noise and retreat inward, helping you to gain clarity on where you are and where you’re headed.

What is Cacao Exactly?

The cacao used in a Cacao Ceremony is chocolate in its purest form. Cacao beans or seeds come from the fruit of the cacao tree and have a distinctly bitter flavor. In it’s raw form, cacao contains nutrients like iron, magnesium, and B vitamins, making cacao a superfood that has been used in ceremonies dating back to the Mayans and Aztecs.

Heart Opening

Cacao contains a molecule called theobromine that significantly increases blood flow. This encourages grounding energy, warmth, and opening of the heart.

During the ceremony, you will enjoy a hot cup of cacao chocolate, which delivers numerous antioxidants as well as iron, magnesium, calcium, and more.

Theobromine is a gentle stimulant that provides a boost in energy. Cacao also causes a release of dopamine and endorphins in the body, creating a happier, more positive mood shift.

During the Cacao Ceremony, we will participate in a meditation with my friend Rose Koh. We will focus on opening the mind, heart, and spirit as we intentionally shut off the noise around us. The cacao helps many people focus and engage more deeply into meditation.

Cacao can help ease everyday stresses and worries and encourage you to get more in tune with your positive, optimistic side.
